The freeware FMS flight simulator has become very popular because it is free, and because many manufacturers are directly supporting it with their transmitters. Many modelers are making their own model files for use with FMS so there is a wide variety of models available for free on the internet.

  • FMS Home Page - the latest software and information is available from this site.

  • FMS 1.0 Version 7.0 Beta For Windows - a stable release with many models included. Download this file and run it to install the sofware. Follow any on-screen prompts during installation.

  • FMS 2.0 Version 8.5 Alpha For Windows - an newer release with more features, but fewer models and possibly more bugs. Download this file and run it to install the sofware. Follow any on-screen prompts during installation.

  • Configuring FMS For Dynam and E-Sky Transmitters With Serial Cable - instructions on how to configure FMS for use with the Dynam and E-Sky helicopter transmitters using a serial port cable (usually included with ready-to-fly helicopters).

  • Configuring FMS For Dynam and E-Sky Transmitters With EK2-0900A USB Cable - instructions on how to configure FMS for use with the Dynam and E-Sky helicopter transmitters using the E-SKy EK2-0900A USB interface cable.

  • Windows Vista users - FMS uses a DLL file from Windows that is no longer included with Windows Vista, which causes an error when you run FMS. The file is named D3DRM.DLL. To install this file, click here and save this file in your My Computer->C:->Windows->System folder. It is also suggested that you run FMS in Windows XP compatibility mode. To do this, right click on the FMS icon on your desktop and select "Compatibility" from the pop-up menu. Select "Windows XP Compatibility" and hit OK. For more information, see the FMS User Forums
