This speed controller can be used in a helicopter. Use the soft start setting. This speed controller requires it to be armed before each use. It will not turn the motor until the throttle has moved all the way full and back down. This is an important safety feature that comes in handy when handling helicopters!
Programmable through transmitter or with the
Feigao Speed Controller Programming Card (FG-ESCPC) (sold separately)
2 Amp BEC - use up to 11.1V, if using at 14.8V disable BEC
3 Li-Poly Auto-Cutoff voltages - 2.5V/2.75V/3.0V per cell
Safe start requires throttle stick to be fully down in order to arm motor
Alerts you when battery pack voltage is out of range or when throttle signal is out of range
Auto throttle shutoff on loss of signal
Thermal overload protection
Failed startup protection - automatically cuts power if motor fails to start
Never exceed the recommended battery voltage listed on the package. Do not use a separate battery supply with this controller. Never disconnect the battery supply when the motor is running. We strongly suggest that you use an overload fuse in the battery circuit. For example, a motor will run at 4 amps therefore a 5 amp speed controller is adequate. If the motor is stalled or stopped, with the power on, then it will draw 15 to 20 amps and burn out the speed controller. An overload fuse can prevent this type of damage. Also, the BEC provides a regulated power supply to the receiver. Usually about .5 amps. A stalled servo can draw 2 or 3 amps and damage the BEC which in turn can cause damage to the receiver.
